No to cultural imperialism relty shows
I am against Cultural Imperialism/ Cultural Globalization, Americanization
It is a special kind of uber pathetic that the US reality show brainwashing has been exported to so many countries. Reality tv is every bit as bad as critics have said it was when it first disgraced our TV screens
I am against the Real Housewives airing in countries outside of North America. The Real Housewives series is a trashy, immoral, disgusting show and it is an extremely bad influence to other countries where some of the worst parts of our culture as seen in the Real Housewives series is exported artificially to other countries, which further erodes and destroys their cultures by America replacing those cultures with American culture. It has to stop
It is so pathetic, depressing and evil that the Real Housewives series has invaded countries in Africa , Eastern Europe, and now SE Asia. There is no reason that that trashy, garbage show has to be in those countries too.
Consumerism makes these idiot governments think they need a stupid, evil, shit show like the Real Housewives show when in reality the quality of life has fallen dramatically in every country that has their own version of this **** show.
The Real Housewives promotes immoral, disgusting acts, including rich whiny KARENS flaunting their money. It is bad enough that trash show airs in the US but there is no reason that filth should air in other countries
I plan on literally forcing Hungary, Thailand, Kenya, Nigeria, to permanently cancel Real Housewives shows and to make up for airing that miserable bourgeois idiot show in their countries in the first place. If they refuse, I will just get some hackers to block access of that tv show to people in those countries by a wide array of methods.
America cultural hegmononey knows no bottoms if now they are shoving this piece of shit shows down other countries throats, promoting American trashy lifestyles. I won't let this happen. Shame on the US politicians in particular the DIPSHITPLOMATS who allow this to happen, they are worse than Donald Trump for this in my opinion
Feminist leader Gloria Steinem has vociferously criticized the Real Housewives franchise for "presenting women as rich, pampered, dependent and hateful towards each other."[90]
—Steinem summed up her dislike of the franchise in 2013[91]
Others have criticized the show for its promotion of conspicuous consumption.[92] The franchise is often analyzed through a lens of feminist political economy, and how the show "creates rich women as objects of cultural derision, well-heeled jesters in a populist court."[93]
In October 2019, The New York Times ran an article criticizing how the casts of the different Real Housewives installments appear "segregated" by skin color.[94] Author Tracie Egan Morrissey pointed to Potomac and Atlanta for their almost entirely African American casts, while the other iterations, such as Beverly Hills, Orange County, Dallas, New York, and New Jersey, are overwhelmingly white and have featured few women of color. The Real Housewives of New York did not have an African-American cast member until 2021; while the addition of Kary Brittingham to Dallas in 2019 marked the show's first Hispanic cast member. Beverly Hills, with the exception of season four’s Joyce Giraud, featured "a racially homogeneous cast throughout its run", until the addition of Garcelle Beauvais in 2019[94] and Crystal Kung-Minkoff in 2021.[95]
The Real Housewives of Dubai installment, which premiered on June 1, 2022, has been the subject of criticism due to its setting in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. On May 25, 2022, a group of 12 human rights organizations, including Freedom Forward, CODEPINK and FairSquare, wrote an open letter to Andy Cohen and other executives condemning the decision to film a show there, citing the Dubai and UAE governments' purported homophobia and women's rights violations. The groups asked the producers to reveal the financial role of the UAE in the series' production, run a disclaimer, and publicly cite past human rights abuses committed by the emirate.[96][97]
